This heater is equipped with a height kit. This means that the heater reduces the injection quantity automatically and depending on the ambient air pressure, so that sooting of the combustion chamber can be prevented or drastically reduced with decreasing air oxygen content. Proportionally to the amount of oxygen in the air, the maximum output of the heating system decreases! By the thumb: From 2000m on you lose approx. 5% of power per 500m height. Our tests up to 3440m went without problems, we think up to 4000m no major problems are to be expected. The software itself also calculates up to 5000m, but so far this control could not be tested in real height. Important: For applications at great heights, the clearance of the fan is extremely important. I.e. it is best not to use hot air piping or only VERY simple ones, the combustion air intake and the exhaust should be laid extremely short and with low resistance (= few kinks, no blockages or reductions). Nevertheless, the following should be observed: Operation at altitudes above 3000m represents a technical compromise in any case. For a longer period of time you have to make sure that the combustion chamber gets really hot again, so that it can be burnt free. If this is not possible, soot deposits can still occur, just like with heaters, which run constantly only on smallest step in the flat country. Therefore, as before, there is no guarantee for sooty combustion chambers. There never was, there never will be, even with a height kit. So please remember: At lower altitudes there should be no problems when you run free again. In general, this applies to all application scenarios anyway: The heating must be operated every 1-2 weeks for at least half an hour full load, so that the combustion chamber reaches the full temperature again. Normally there is no more maintenance. For special cases with overnight stays for weeks on more than 4000 meters then perhaps also a cleaning of the combustion chamber including seal set is quite justifiable :) |
